Robert Half Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Clerk in Sycamore, Illinois

Description

Our client in Sycamore, IL is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Clerk to join their finance team in a Hybrid capacity. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and processing all accounts payable and receivable transactions, ensuring accuracy, compliance with company policies, and timely processing.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable:

  • Review, verify, and process vendor invoices and expense reports.

  • Maintain and reconcile accounts payable ledger.

  • Prepare and perform check runs, wire transfers, and ACH payments.

  • Resolve invoice discrepancies and issues with vendors.

  • Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up-to-date.

  • Assist with month-end closing activities and accruals.

  • Maintain vendor files and ensure compliance with company policies.

Accounts Receivable:

  • Generate and send out invoices to customers.

  • Process and apply payments received from customers.

  • Monitor and follow up on overdue accounts.

  • Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted.

  • Assist in preparing financial reports and statements related to accounts receivable.

  • Communicate with customers to resolve payment issues and disputes.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer files and records.

    Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in accounts payable and receivable or related accounting roles.

  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
