Job Description Summary

The Facilities Engineer will report to the Facilities Leader, on site in Swindon. The scope of this role is to ensure that the day to day tasks related to Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) as well as breakdown and reactive works are prioritised and completed in a timely manner.

Ensuring that works meet Health, Safety and Environmental standards in compliance with statutory, regulatory, company and plant requirements.

This role will work on a shift rotation of: Monday - Friday: 8am - 4pm, 6am - 2pm and 10am- 6pm.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure the PPM and reactive tasks throughout the building are completed in compliance with BD good documentation practice and be proactive in highlighting areas where improvements can be made.

  • Complete all work requests on the (FM360) system, ensuring the progress is tracked and that the requestors have clear visibility on the status.

  • Comply with BD quality system, cGMP, Health &Safety and Environmental standards.

  • Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out both planned maintenance and reactive works. To provide parts lists and estimated timescales to carry out remedial works and send out site communications if necessary.

  • Take part in the call out Rota and identify opportunities to minimise the number of call outs.

  • Lead compliance of facility related activities e.g., Legionella, asbestos register, electrical testing etc.

  • Provide holiday and sickness cover at short notice when needed.

  • Supervising and monitoring of sub-contractors works whilst they are on site undertaking maintenance in collaboration with the team.

  • To be flexible in working hours and supporting the department to ensure the site standards are maintained.

  • Use Vertical lift platforms to enable high level work.

  • Day to day maintenance/inspection of all site plant.

  • Ensure site security is maintained and act as Key holder.

About you:

  • Craft Apprenticeship or Qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is required.

  • Previous facilities experience in Technology / Medical Device Manufacturing Sector and cleanroom environment is a distinct advantage.

  • Safety knowledge of electrical, compressed air and pressurised systems.

  • Experience leading suppliers, sub-contractor and internal stakeholder relationship.

  • Full cGMP training.

  • Experience with Facilities and Building Management.

  • Team player skills, working effectively with other departmental teams whilst also motivating and influencing team members.

  • Ability to work with a minimal supervision and on own initiative.

  • Analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities, effective judgment, and decision-making.

  • Excellent computer skills, specifically Microsoft suite.
