Logistics Operations Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Processing of outbound shipments in a safe and compliant manner, following all hazmat/dangerous goods (DOT/IATA) regulations, cGMP, chain of custody and cold chain requirements.

  • Transacting inter-company and outbound material flows, via SAP bin to bin transactions, sales/transfer order processing, subcontracting or charge to cost center workflows, to maintain accurate inventory records.

  • Generation of associated shipping documents (verification forms, Bills of Lading, Packing list, Invoices, etc.)

  • Obtain and maintain Transportation Security Administration (TSA) screening certification, required for outbound parcel and freight shipments.

  • Scheduling of domestic shipments with suppliers/carriers.

  • Coordination of export bookings with the International Customer Service Team.

  • Obtain and maintain proper certifications/licensure, for the operation of powered material handling equipment.

  • This position will have interactions focused on logistics-related activities to primarily support site production (antigen through final packaged commercial goods), but also interactions to support logistics needs for Technical Services, Quality Control, Regulatory, Clinical/R&D Ops and site projects.

Key Accountabilities:

Outbound Shipping:

  • Processing outbound shipments in a safe and compliant manner, while following all department SOP’s.

  • Proactively communicate shipment status to internal and external customers.

  • Generation of all shipping related documents (Bills of lading, packing list, invoice, etc.) Physical loading of all trucks, air cargo containers, ocean container and passive small parcel shipping containers.

  • Booking of domestic shipments with carriers and working with ICS for international shipments.

Material Handling:

  • Responsible to perform and control all logistical movements of material of material from docks to trucks (temperature controlled and dry), air cargo containers and ocean containers.

  • Must maintain certification to allow for the use of required material handling equipment to perform material movements.

  • Responsible for proper housekeeping and cleaning procedures as set forth in departmental SOPs.

Training and Certifications:

  • Completion of all assigned training modules, SOPs, SWIs, safety and compliance requirements as controlled by the Sanofi Learning Management System (LMS) system.

  • Obtain and maintain Transportation Security Administration (TSA) screening certification.

  • Obtain and maintain DOT & IATA certification, for the processing of outbound hazmat and dangerous goods shipments.

Inventory Control:

  • Responsible for inventory control of all materials within the SAP system as transacted in conjunction SAP Sales Orders, Subcontracting and Bin to Bins.

  • Controls the inventory accuracy, up to the point of delivery acceptance, of all Bin-to-Bin transfers to production areas for use in Goods Issue to Process Orders.

  • Responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy as defined by corporate standards and measured via the cycle count process for all material stored in the warehouse.

Receiving Duties:

  • Perform all raw material goods receipt for valid Purchase Orders or Scheduling Agreements. Goods receipt put away, storage and order picking for all warehoused material in accordance with good cGMP practices and as set forth in departmental SOPs.

  • Goods Issue to Cost Center or Bin to Bin transfer for subsequent Good Issue to Process Order.

  • Receiving Schedule oversite.

All other duties as assigned.

About you

Education/Experience

The Logistics Technician is preferred to have experience and knowledge including, but not limited to the following:

  • Valid driver's license (clean driving record) required, with the ability to obtain DOT medical release.

  • High School degree required.

  • College degree preferred, but not required – Previous work experience will be evaluated in-lieu of degree.

  • Experience with outbound shipping multi-mode (small parcel, truck, air cargo, ocean freight, etc.)

  • Experience with shipping document generation (Bill’s of Lading, Packing List, Invoices, etc.)

  • SAP (ERP or WMS) system knowledge.

  • Powered Material Handling equipment.

  • Manual Material Handling equipment.

  • Monitoring and cleaning of critical temperature monitored areas.

  • Parcel/package tracking and delivery systems (i.e., SCLogic.)

  • Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) battery charging.

  • Goods receipt of quality and non-quality management materials.

  • Labeling and put away of incoming materials.

  • Inventory management (cycle count, order picking, etc.)

Internal Certifications (will be administered upon hiring):

  • Powered Industrial Truck (PIT)/Forklift Certification - Required within one year of start date.

  • Transportation Security Admin. (TSA) Screener Certification - Required within 3 months of start date

  • Dept. of Transportation (DOT) Certification (hazmat via ground) - Required within 6 months of start date Int’l Air Transit Assoc. (IATA) Certification (dangerous goods via air) - Required within 6 months of start date
