Purpose/Introduction

Chevron Phillips Chemical is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our team at the Sweeny, Clemens, and Old Ocean Facilities in Sweeny, Texas. The Electrical Maintenance Engineer will require direct coordination with Operations, Maintenance and Reliability to improve plant safety, minimize environmental impacts, meet economic justifications, and improve overall reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Resolve incident investigation actions associated with maintenance

  • Maintenance support and troubleshooting of either instrumentation and electrical equipment

  • Work closely with the Planners and Supervisors to gain knowledge of the planning and scheduling process and responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to Maintenance and Operations

  • Fill in as Maintenance Supervisor and/or Planner, as needed

  • Follow off-site repairs of critical plant equipment

  • Provide input to capital improvement projects to ensure maintenance considerations are met

  • Champion the standard maintenance procedure program

  • Champion the preventative maintenance program

  • Design and execute minor expense projects utilizing plant processes.

  • Provide optimization and lifecycle planning for key obsolescence issues by monitoring preventative maintenance records that indicate repetitive failure modes.

  • Support unit MOC's, PSSR's, LOPA's.

  • Participate in unit turnaround and shutdowns

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. 

  • Must demonstrate excellent leadership, communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAP experience
