       License and Certification Qualifications: Valid Commercial Driver?s License (CDL) preferred.Education Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required.Experience Qualifications: One year administrative or customer service experience required. Two years driving a school bus preferred.Skills Qualifications: Basic knowledge of Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) policies and procedures and driver handbook; ability to type and perform clerical duties with a high rate of speed and accuracy; intermediate level computer knowledge; ability to communicate with others in an effective and tactful manner; and ability to act as a representative of Gwinnett County Public Schools.Primary Responsibilities: Provide customer service to administrators and parents for questions and issues relating to student transportation and serve as the communication liaison between dispatchers and the general population.1. Field telephone inquiries regarding the safety, schedule, or location of students within the transportation system. 2. Disperse appropriate information to dispatchers, such as student injury information, informing special needs bus managers when students are not going to school and of any road closings.3. Cooperate and maintain positive working relationships within the department and with all other school system personnel. 4. Make customer service related decisions as directed. 5. Render support during emergency/crisis situations. 6. Place telephone calls to bus managers, supervisors, and the local schools regarding lost students, sick students, undeliverable students, student discipline problems, late routes, route inquires breakdowns, road closings, traffic delays, etc. 7. Utilize various computer software programs, including Microsoft Word, STIMS, Excel, Lotus Approach, and Bus Planner. 8. Perform clerical duties including filing, data entry, updating spreadsheets, receiving and answering correspondence, and making copies.9. Perform other duties as assigned. Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time. Employee is also required to talk, hear, stand, and walk. The employee may be required to use hands to touch, handle, feel, and/or reach. Employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
