Aston Carter Staff Accountant in Sunrise, Florida
Job Title: Staff AccountantJob Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in GAAP accounting and be responsible for managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and monthly reconciliations. This position requires a proactive individual who can handle vendor correspondence, manage expense reports, and support month-end closing procedures.
Responsibilities
Reconcile bank accounts monthly, verify deposits, and address inquiries from banks.
Reconcile customer accounts and manage accounts receivable/collections.
Verify payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensure payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
Assist in month-end reporting procedures.
Receive invoices and forward them to appropriate personnel for approval in NetSuite.
Charge expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports and recording entries.
Code invoices, set up new accounts, reconcile accounts, and close monthly books.
Analyze discrepancies and unpaid invoices.
Handle vendor correspondence via phone or email.
Maintain vendor profiles by verifying federal ID numbers, W9 forms, and contracts.
Pay employees by receiving and verifying expense reports.
Prepare check runs, wire transfers, and ACH transactions.
Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
Process remittance information from checks, drafts, and wire transfers for invoices provided by vendors.
Assist with monthly status reports and monthly closings.
Assist with ad hoc reporting.
Perform filing and general administrative tasks.
Perform other duties as required to support the Finance Department.
Protect the organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
Assist in the 1099 and unclaimed property (escheatment) filing process.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
6+ years of GAAP Accounting Experience (full cycle accounting).
Solid understanding of GAAP, debits, and credits.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel (required).
Experience with accounting software, NetSuite (preferred).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with general ledger, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably NetSuite or Oracle.
Work Environment
The position requires on-site work on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with remote work on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Equipment is provided, but a dedicated workspace in your home is required. Enjoy excellent benefits, including tuition reimbursement, insurance, a retirement plan, PTO, and more.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $68000.00 - $70720.00
