Our internships are twelve (12) to sixteen (16) weeks long.

Required Skills:

Wireless Sensing Intern (PhD) Responsibilities:

1. Work on exciting forward-looking wireless products and/or wireless technologies, in particular, antenna designs and antenna technology innovations

2. Work with the intern host on antenna design and optimization to meet given antenna KPIs, or work with the intern host on new antenna technology investigation and introduction in the areas of AR/VR

3. Internship work involves antenna simulation, prototyping, and/or measurement

4. Communicate and present results to a wide range of audiences

Minimum Qualifications:

5. Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a PhD in Electrical Engineering with focus on Electromagnetic, RF/Microwave engineering, Antenna design

6. Knowledge of microwave theory, antenna fundamentals and RF basics

7. Hands-on experience with characterizing active and passive components, and antennas using various lab equipment, such as anechoic chambers, SAR test equipment, VNA, load pull tuners

8. Proficient in different EDA/EM tools, such as CST, HFSS, ADS, XFDTD and other tools such as Matlab, ADS, and Optenni Lab

9. Familiar with at least one programming language, i.e. Matlab, Python, Shell

10. Excellent written and verbal communications skills

11. Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.

12. Experience in the study of multiple antennas system

13. Knowledge of at least one of different wireless technologies, i.e. Cellular, WiFi/BT

14. Knowledge of antenna design concepts for electronic devices such as cellular devices, wearables, and other compact personal wireless devices

15. Good understanding of compliance requirements for personal devices

16. Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op

17. Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by grants, fellowships, patents, as well as first-authored publications at leading workshops or conferences
