Position Summary...

What you'll do...

Sam's Club eCommerce is looking for a Staff Technical Program Manager (TPM) to be a part of the Technical Program Management team supporting the eCommerce area. The Sam's Club eCommerce team is responsible for building and running the SamsClub.com website, Mobile Apps and associated experiences. Specifically, we are looking for a TPM to lead technical program execution in the Scan & Go, Transactions, and Platform areas. You will be responsible for leading large and complex initiatives in support of Sam's growth and member strategies.

About Team:

Sam's Club eCommerce is a team of engineers passionate about taking care of our members and associates. The team helps build and maintain the foundational and experiential systems that allow our members to shop online, pick up in store, experience our several service offerings and check out in the club using Scan & Go. This team is geographically distributed but is tight knit and proud of what they do!

What you'll do:

  • Work with product managers, architects and engineering leaders to define and scope large and complex initiatives.

  • You will build Discovery and Execution plans that include coordination of numerous cross-functional teams

  • You will lead multiple teams of engineers to deliver cross-functional initiatives

  • You will identify, track and manage risks and issues that threaten project or program success

  • You will communicate to team members, peers and leadership in a way that supports effective program execution

  • You will work with your team of peer TPMs to drive consistency and improvement in technical program execution. This includes standardization of practices and tooling where it makes sense.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with engineering management and stakeholders, including senior leadership, business partners, and external vendors.

  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements, incorporating new technologies and methodologies into project management practices.

What you'll bring:

  • A deep experience in software engineering and technical program management. The candidate should have 10+ years of experience as a technical program manager leading large and cross-functional initiatives. This is a role where one can bring their wealth of experience and grow as a leader!

  • The candidate should have previous experience as a systems or software engineer. They are not expected to write software but should be able to contribute to design and architecture discussions based on previous experience.

  • The candidate should have experience in eCommerce industry, ideally retail eCommerce. This will help the candidate understand the technical and functional landscape so they can effectively manage across the numerous teams required to bring an eCommerce shopping experience to life.

  • The candidate should be a skilled communicator. This role requires an extremely effective communicator who can work with team members, peers and leaders.

  • The candidate should be comfortable communicating with senior leadership up to and including VP or SVP. They should be able to adjust their communication style for the audience.

  • The candidate should have several years of experience using Jira and Confluence to manage and track program execution.

  • Lastly, the candidate should have a very high level of integrity and respect for the individual. These are key attributes that define how we do all of our work.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00-$286,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
