Our Electronic Materials group based out of our Sunnyvale Ca Lab is hiring a Technical Specialist. The Technical Specialist’s primary responsibility is to provide proposal/quotes for customized projects, by focusing on in depth understanding of customer needs, formulating an effective analytical solution for it and further provide a quote with the statement of work. The focus of work may be in-presales and/or post-sales.

Additionally, they would maintain direct contact with customers, help to understand and develop specific value proposals for target customers. They would support the sales team by developing and maintaining positive customer relations (CRM) with clients/customers, which can substantially affect service and/or product revenue(s). The Technical Specialist will develop technical knowledge of broad range of analytical methods.

Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm 

This position is subject to ITAR

  • B.S./M.S. in Chemistry, Physics, Electrical Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or equivalent in education and experience.

  • Prior experience (academic or industrial) in chemistry, materials science, semiconductors

  • Preferred experience with surface analysis or elemental analysis (SIMS, XPS, etc.)

  • Excellent written communication skills.

  • Must be a proficient communicator and listener.

  • Strong analysis and judgment skills

  • Able to work with minimal supervision.

  • Able to work individually and as part of a team.

  • Computer literate, high level of accuracy and detail oriented. 

  • Must be able to handle multiple functions at the same time and maintain good organizational skills.

Base salary range: $110,000-$125,000 (Salary is commensurate with experience and degree of technical expertise.)

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. 

  • Ability to continuously operate a personal computer or lab equipment for extended periods of time (4 or more hours).

  • Require close distance visual acuity with or without correction (Glasses, Contacts, etc.)

  • Ability to operate a keyboard and other lab equipment, use a telephone, access file cabinets and other items stored at various levels, including overhead.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and understandably ensure an accurate exchange of information in normal conversational distance, over the telephone, and in a group setting.

  • Learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, make timely decisions in the context of a workflow, ability to communicate with visitors, ability to complete tasks in situations that have a speed or productivity quota.
