Job Overview:

Our company is looking for a skilled and experienced Payroll Specialist to support our payroll department during peak season. In this contract role, you will be responsible for processing complex payroll for multiple clients, ensuring accurate and timely payroll calculations, tax filings, and resolving any discrepancies. This position is ideal for professionals with a strong payroll background looking to assist during the high-demand period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process complex payroll for multiple clients, including hourly, salaried, and commission-based employees.

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations, including deductions, benefits, and garnishments.

  • Review and validate employee timecards, attendance records, and pay adjustments.

  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and assist employees with payroll-related inquiries.

  • Prepare and submit payroll-related filings (e.g., tax deposits, 941s, 940s, state reports).

  • Assist in year-end tax processing, including the preparation and distribution of W-2s and 1099s.

  • Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and industry best practices.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of payroll processing experience, with a strong understanding of payroll taxes and deductions.

  • Proficient in payroll software (e.g., ADP Workforce Now, Paycor, or similar).

  • Solid understanding of payroll compliance and regulations.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple payroll cycles.

  • Certification in payroll (e.g., CPP or FPC) is a plus.
