Meta Operations Program Manager in Sunnyvale, California

Summary:

The Operations Program Manager will serve as the Single Threaded Leader (STL) for their program, acting as the primary Operations interface to core product development teams and other functional organizations within the company. The STL is responsible for keeping the Operations team informed about program developments that may impact Operations and ensuring integration between the Core Team and Operations work.STLs must possess a strong technical understanding of their products and have experience influencing key design and architecture decisions to meet challenging cost targets and key Operations KPIs. The STL will oversee the program from early architecture through to program launch. This role involves close collaboration with Product Managers, Engineering, Advanced Manufacturing, Industrial Design, Sourcing, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and other Operations teams, bringing an operational mindset to product development.Additionally, the STL will manage all operational aspects of the product launch, including capacity and ramp planning, factory readiness, and resolving program issues.

Operations Program Manager Responsibilities:

  1. Assess, analyze, consolidate, and communicate risks and status clearly and succinctly to management. Highlight key issues and present resolution options to the cross-functional executive team through new product reviews and other executive forums.

  2. Work closely with Product Managers and Engineering teams to define Key Performance Indicators and Product Requirements, ensuring successful architecture and design locks while introducing an operational mindset early in the development cycle.

  3. Actively participate in engineering design and technology development discussions, providing focus and direction to deliver scalable and cost-effective manufacturing solutions

  4. Serve as a liaison across multiple cross-functional teams to ensure that product cost, manufacturability, reliability, quality, and delivery goals are met.

  5. You will tackle complex operational and supply chain challenges and lead strategic, high-impact initiatives that shape our internal operations and external partnerships.

  6. Lead ramp-up availability with Manufacturing, GSM, Quality, Engineering, and other internal and external teams.

  7. Use your technical expertise to drive the engineering and supply chain teams toward meeting challenging product cost targets, while collaborating closely with product cost engineers.

  8. Lead the Operations team in preparing factories with manufacturing partners to support NPI (New Product Introduction) builds and MP (mass production) requirements, including line layout, automation, capacity, and CAPEX.

  9. Accountable for end-to-end manufacturing operations at suppliers, ensuring development builds are executed on schedule, leading up to ramp and into mass production.

  10. Drive supplier readiness activities for development builds leading up to ramp, including the design and layout of manufacturing lines, development of qualification plans, and defining capacity and CAPEX requirements. Clearly identify deliverables and dependencies.

  11. Drive Operations teams to ensure that materials, equipment, fixtures, systems, staffing, security, training, and documentation plans are established with our manufacturing partners.

  12. You will need to navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple work threads to maximize impact.

  13. Ability to travel up to 25% to suppliers during critical build activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. B.S. or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing and Operations Engineering, or equivalent experience.

  2. 10+ years of experience in Operations Program Management or NPI roles within the consumer electronics industry.

  3. Knowledge in Operations and Supply Chain.

  4. Experience in cross-functional leadership.

  5. Proven project management and teamwork skills.

  6. Experience working with and managing external suppliers and manufacturers.

  7. Problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

  8. Proven interpersonal skills with the experience to communicate effectively and influence leadership.

  9. Experience to define and implement systems, tools, and mechanisms to bridge integration gaps between internal and external partners.

  1. Master's degree, MBA.

  2. 10+ years of experience leading the development and delivery of multiple high-volume consumer electronics products, including managing JDMs (Joint Development Manufacturers) with various models of engagement.

Public Compensation:

$195,000/year to $267,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
