Google Lead Technical Program Manager, Global Networking Technology in Sunnyvale, California

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 8 years of experience in technical program management or related technical role in a network environment.

  • 3 years of experience in people management, with technical leadership.

  • Experience with Networking, Network Architecture, Networking Protocols, Software Architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with investigative, problem-solving, negotiation and organizational skills.

  • Understanding of the complex relationship between the organization and its environment, with ability to identify connections, adopt different perspectives, and quickly respond to changing circumstances in a strategic way.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively across organizational boundaries, build relationships, and import and export talent and ideas to achieve a broader organizational goal.

  • Comfortable with changing specifications or standards, and ability to create conditions in which the team feels comfortable and capable of working through ambiguity.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills that drive executional impact at scale.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $168,000-$252,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Foster partnerships with leadership, engineering, and product managers to ensure Technical program management (TPgM) initiatives align with overall engineering and product priorities.

  • Forecast and optimize resource allocation for the TPgM team, focusing on sub-linear scaling to achieve growth.

  • Inspire and lead a team of technical program managers who embrace ownership, fostering collaboration and alignment across software engineering, network engineering, and partner organizations within Technical Infrastructure.

  • Lead the TPM group to streamline processes, simplify execution, manage programs and Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), and ensure timely releases and successful delivery of projects across assigned functional areas of the team.

  • Introduce tooling efficiencies and provide comprehensive support to teams, enabling them to execute projects effectively, cultivate a healthy, scalable, and growth-oriented TPM team capable of operating across multiple locations.
