Insight Global Field Service Technician in Sunnyvale, California

Job Description

An employer in Sunnyvale, CA is looking for an Engineering Technician to join their Test Systems Engineering group to work together with the highest caliber Electrical and Mechanical Engineers to ensure bespoke test equipment needed to further product development is properly maintained and repaired at an accelerated pace. They are seeking the most talented and passionate individuals who are excited to join our engineering team to support our test systems on the global level. You will perform corrective maintenance on in-house dynamometers and supporting test system equipment. Document all work performed in Jira and communicate efficiently and respectfully with R&D engineering groups. Troubleshoot and test equipment and review tests leading to equipment failure, and focus on continuous improvement and 5S practices.

Skills and Requirements

Mechanical aptitude: Ability to deconstruct electro-mechanical assemblies to component level, inspect for damage or nonconformance, and reassemble with little to no guidance.

Knowledge of basic hand tools, and fabrication skills (use of cut-off wheels, metal grinders, drill press, etc.)

Knowledge of electrical skills

Understanding of electrical and rotating equipment hazards (LOTO, HV Training) Detail-oriented with solid documentation and reporting skills utilizing Microsoft Office and project management tools like JIRA / Confluence.

Must be able to become HV certified and be comfortable working with equipment capable of 600VAC and 1500VDC.

MUST be able to travel (Domestic and International 20-30% of the time)

Flexibility to work overtime and weekends when required null
