Job Type: Full-time with overtime

Experience: 1 year preferred

Reports to: Foreman, no supervisory responsibility

Wage: $30-$35 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)

Job Summary:

The haul truck driver will be responsible for hauling rock and sand, and operating other equipment as needed. Experience short-haul delivery, be home every night, and be an integral part of exciting projects. Take ownership of your role by completing pre and post trip inspections, following company safety standards, maintaining courteous customer relations, and working with a team that feels like family.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain vehicles in a clean, organized, and safe manner.

  • Perform maintenance on assigned trucks and other equipment as required.

  • Complete pre and post-shift inspections and assist with maintenance or repair of equipment as needed.

  • Operate other yards/heavy equipment to move parts and materials if needed (i.e. loaders, trucks, etc.).

  • Must record any maintenance issues in the truck logbook and ensure the supervisor is aware of any maintenance issues that would inhibit work production or create safety concerns.

  • Set up and tear down job sites when moving mining locations (i.e. running cables, hoses, setting up blocks, tarping, shoveling aggregate, etc.).

  • Follow, enforce, and promote company safety standards at all times.

  • Assist with machine maintenance and repairs.

  • Unplug and shovel off conveyors/screens, change out screens, rollers, and cone liners, repair conveyor problems, and grease moving machine parts.

  • Team player mentality and eagerness to cross-train.

  • Willingness to perform duties outside the normal scope of work as this job description is non-exhaustive.

Position Requirements:

  • Consent to authorization of a pre-employment work screen, Motor Vehicle Record request, and drug test.

  • Class A or B CDL and current Medical DOT card.

  • Mechanical background and skills.

  • Possess excellent communication skills and understand instructions in both written and verbal forms.

  • Dependability and reliability by showing up to scheduled shifts on time and being prepared for work.

  • A positive attitude is critical to ensure productive working relationships with co-workers and management.

  • Continuous exposure to weather elements including heat, cold, noise, dusty conditions, and working outdoors.

  • Overnight travel is not standard but may be required.
