CORPORATE FLEET SAFETY SPECIALIST

Supervisor’s title:

Corporate Director of Fleet Safety

POSITION Summary: This role is responsible for managing, developing, and implementing corporate-level fleet safety processes and procedures, ensuring compliance with USDOT/FMCSA regulatory requirements. The position provides fleet support, guidance, and direction to multiple Business Units, including Complex Managers, Live Ops Managers, Driver Managers, and Safety Managers. Additionally, Complex Fleet Safety Coordinators report indirectly to their respective Corporate Fleet Safety Specialist. The role oversees various fleet safety telematics platforms, such as Dashcams, Training Systems, and FMCSA Compliance Platforms, ensuring their optimal functionality, compliance, and integration to enhance fleet safety and regulatory adherence. This position supports fleets with over 250-300 drivers. *This position will be located at one our plant location's and is not remote!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directs assigned Complexes to meet and exceed DOT compliance requirements.

  • Establishes and facilitates procedures and processes to ensure accurate compliance programs.

  • Develop strategies to achieve local and corporate fleet safety goals.

  • Performs onsite visits to manage Fleet-related projects and process improvements.

  • Conducts internal audits to ensure DOT and company compliance.

  • Leads Fleet Team meetings to provide ongoing training, support, and problem resolution.

  • Manages the hours-of-service process via ELD (Electronic Log Devices) data and oversees the audit process for driver time records.

  • Oversee the DOT drug and alcohol program, ensuring facilities execute program requirements in accordance with DOT standards.

  • Manages the commercial motor vehicle Driver Qualification approval process for assigned locations.

  • Facilitates Collision Review Board meetings to ensure timely review of all collisions and adherence to company requirements.

  • Manages Fleet Safety recordkeeping and retention functions.

  • Oversees process accountability related to Dashcam video events and coaching for assigned locations.

  • Interacts with government officials on behalf of the company as needed for FMCSA compliance.

  • Leads fleet safety initiatives, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and regulatory standards.

  • Collaborate effectively with Complex Managers, HR Directors, and government officials to foster a culture of fleet safety and compliance.

Additional Factors:

  • Travel required up to 50%

  • Corporate Fleet Team Specialists will be assigned specific fleet programs to manage and lead at the corporate level on behalf of the Corporate Fleet Safety team.
