Hosokawa Micron International Inc. Quality Assurance Supervisor in Summit, NJ, New Jersey
The Quality Assurance Supervisor will lead and manage quality control and efficiency initiatives with the manufacturing process. This role ensures that production meets or exceeds customer expectations, complies with industry standards, and aligns with company objectives. The Quality Assurance Supervisor will oversee quality assurance programs, drive process improvement and collaborate across departments to enhance manufacturing performance. Essential Duties:Quality Assurance:•Train production staff in our quality standards and procedures •Minimize rework through development, implementation, and maintenance of effective quality control procedures. •Conduct inspections and audits of production processes, equipment, and finished goods including machined in-house parts. •Investigate product defects and initiate corrective actions. •Ensure accurate and timely manufacturing of parts to print. •Generate detailed insurance performance reporting.Process Efficiency:•Meet estimated work order times by identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions to improve workflow at projected costs.•Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production and quality.•Generate detailed efficiency performance reporting.•Optimize resource utilization to maximize productivity.•Lead initiatives for waste reduction and cost savings.Compliance and Standards:•Ensure compliance with industry regulations, OSHA safety standards, and ISO-9001.•Prepare and maintain documentation for audits and certifications.Team Leadership:•Supervise quality control technicians and other relevant personnel.•Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.•Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.Basic Qualifications:•5+ years’ experience in print reading, inspection, manufacturing flow and efficiency improvement•3+ years’ experience in quality control or production efficiency role, preferably in industrial machinery manufacturingPreferred Qualifications:•BS Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering •Quality Management Certification (e.g., CQE, CQA) •5+ years’ experience with ERP system and data analysis tools •3+ years’ experience with safety and environmental compliance standards•5+ years’ experience in quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001)•3+ years’ experience with Lean or Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies •3+ years’ experience with industrial machinery manufacturing processesPhysical Requirements:•May require moving parts weighing up to 50 lbs.
