Hosokawa Micron International Inc. Director of Engineering in Summit, NJ, New Jersey

The Director of Engineering will be responsible for leading and overseeing all Engineering operations to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment with business objectives. This role includes strategic planning and management of Project, Design, and Controls Engineering functions, ensuring successful product development and order execution within budget and schedule constraints. The Director of Engineering will serve as a key liaison between customers, sister companies, and internal departments, fostering collaboration and clear communication. Additionally, this position will provide essential technical support across departments and drive initiatives for continuous product development and innovation.Engineering Duties:•Supervise and collaborate with the Mechanical Engineering Design team, providing technical support as needed.•Oversee Project Engineering staff, managing project execution and scheduling while assisting with tasks to alleviate workload when necessary.•Supervise and coordinate with the Electrical Controls & Validation team to ensure high-quality service for customers.•Manage departmental administrative activities and general operations as required.•Act as a key technical liaison, supporting Sales & Marketing efforts.•Ensure compliance with ISO standards, quality protocols, and safety regulations across all engineering functions.•Facilitate seamless collaboration between Engineering and Manufacturing teams.•Provide technical support to the Technical Center as needed.•Offer technical assistance to Facilities when required.Basic Qualifications:•B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace or Chemical)•10+ years of experience in the mechanical design and R&D environment.•5 + years' experience of managing and supervising engineering staff of at least 10 subordinatesPreferred Qualifications:•Advanced degree in mechanical, aerospace or chemical a plus.•5+ years hands on design experience of high-speed rotating equipment, powder processing equipment or mechanical power transmission.•5+ years of experience in: Computational Fluid Dynamics, Vibration Analysis, FEA, Pneumatic Conveying System design.Physical Requirements:•Must be able to remain in a constant stationary position while working at a desk.•Must be able to frequently remain in an upright position while conducting facility tours and/or while traveling to customer sites.Hosokawa Micron Powder Systems provides equal employment opportunities to applicants and employees without regard to race; color; sex; gender identity; sexual orientation; religious practices and observances; national origin; pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions; status as a protected veteran or spouse/family member of a protected veteran; or disability.Hosokawa Micron Powder Systems is committed to providing reasonable accommodation to, among others, individuals with disabilities and disabled veterans.
