Job Title: Project Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic Project Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will prepare engineering estimates and development plans, lead engineering project teams, and maintain our engineering work standards and processes. You will work with various departments such as Program Management, Certification, Safety & Reliability, Quality, and Manufacturing. Your role will also involve evaluating technical risk, presenting progress reports for management review, and supporting continuous product improvements and innovation. While hands-on development is not required, understanding the process is beneficial. Driving the team, coordinating activities, and delivering on customer milestones will be key responsibilities in this position.

Hard Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer or Software Engineering or Computer Science

  • 5-7 years of project management experience

  • Proven experience in managing or producing a complex project related to a software/hardware system

  • Demonstrated understanding of requirements management for the development of hardware and/or software systems

  • Knowledge of DO- 254 and DO- 178 (Military Standards) preferred

  • Aerospace is a plus

  • Understanding of FAA TSO, FARs, AC and STC regulations & procedures is beneficial

  • Familiarity with Primavera or Microsoft Project is desirable

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 12 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Sugar Grove, Illinois and some days remote.

Work Environment

Our office is located in Sugar Grove, but you will report to a manager in Montreal. We offer a flexible work schedule with the possibility of working remotely for up to 3 days a week. However, be prepared to come on-site 5 days a week if required. You will work in a supportive team environment and occasional travel to Montreal, Canada is required. Travel arrangements can be flexible based on personal circumstances.
