RESPONSIBILITIES:

• This role serves as an important interface between the nut procurement team, raw material suppliers, plant operations, R&D, and Quality Control; and requires a high level of attention to detail.

• This role will provide primary support for the PLANTERS® facilities, with additional support for SKIPPY® and JUSTIN’S®.

• Schedules and manages inbound deliveries of peanuts and tree nuts, including managing the railcar fleet and working with importers to ensure timely delivery of product for the PLANTERS® facilities.

• Reviews supply needs and determines orders to fulfill production needs.

• Establishes and develops positive supplier relationships while maintaining business integrity.

• Works with various Hormel enterprise locations and with the Corporate Planning group to understand supply/demand and to mitigate supply issues.

• Works with Supply Planning to determine forecast requirements to help determine long-term raw material volume needs.

• Support supply chain of the future activities that help modernize and automate key procurement functions.

• Other procurement functions as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field.

• 3+ years of experience in Supply Chain or Operations, leading improvements within category

• Strong background in or ability to learn Microsoft Office Suite, QAD, Oracle, and other similar systems.

• Demonstrated pattern of initiative and ability to work independently.

• Demonstrated effective interpersonal and leadership skills.

• Demonstrated effective persuasive and relationship building skills.

• Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills.

• Strong verbal and written communication and organization skill.

• Willingness to travel up to 5%.

• Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States
