WSP USA Associate Environment, Health & Safety Specialist in Sudbury, Ontario

WSP is seeking an Associate Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist , to join our Mine Water and Environment Team and EHS Technical Community in the Sudbury office.

The successful candidate will work on projects involving environmental, health & safety and sustainability management. The EHS Specialist will be involved in a broad range of projects helping to support our clients goals of EHS performance improvement.

An overview of your role will include:

  • Supporting multi-discipline EHS projects across a variety of sectors. Specific services provided may include providing:

  • Occupational Heath & Hygiene Services and Expertise

  • Providing Radiation Protection Services and Expertise

  • Providing EHS Management System Services and Expertise

  • Providing Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) Services and Expertise

  • Written and oral communication both within multi-disciplinary teams and with clients

  • Project and proposal completion, including (but not limited to) project finances, schedule, deliverables, and working as part of multi-disciplinary teams, as well as client/sub-contractor relationships

  • Supporting business development, including developing marketing plans, tools and initiatives with senior staff members and EHS team.

  • Work under the direction of senior staff to complete business plan objectives at the local, regional and global scale

  • Ability to work weekends and evenings as required to meet project commitments and travel for extended periods of time (1-2 weeks at a time)

  • Other duties as assigned

You will have a background in:

  • Health and safety or environmental policy as demonstrated by a post-secondary degree or demonstrated expertise in the consulting field

  • Occupational health and safety and environmental legislation

  • Working knowledge of occupational hygiene practices

  • Organizing and providing support during workshops involving participation from stakeholders and demonstrated experience summarizing and presenting results with an emphasis on written communication

  • Computer skills for data management and manipulation including strong familiarity with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel
