ANDIS COMPANY Packaging Engineering Intern/Co-op in STURTEVANT, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: We are looking for a Co-op/Intern for Spring 2025 who can work full-time, a combination of remote and onsite, with employment starting in January. This is an educational position, requiring basic knowledge and understanding of packaging and manufacturing industry and technical concepts. During the co-op you will collaborate to serve both internal and external customers of the company. Interface across various work areas and organizations to support the process of design, development, and analysis of Andis Packaging. As a student, you will evaluate the customer\'s needs and expectations for a packaging solution and gain experience with multiple materials and revenue streams. Assignments will include participation in cross-functional teams to cultivate packaging for projects within different stages of readiness. Responsibilities: Upholds Andis Core Values in all work-related activities. Maintain open communication and build strong relationships with teams within and beyond engineering. Design consumer driven packing for manufacturability, inspect ability, and cost optimization. Review and qualify packaging dieline files from external suppliers and printers. Coordinate prototype models to evaluate new design concepts with suppliers. Generate comprehensive protocols for analyzing and testing packaging. Identify, Follow, and document appropriate ISTA procedures. Create and revise component prints as well as associating BOMs with most up-to-date specifications Manage the circulation of packaging ECN documentation for various functional approvals. Participate in in project teams & assist in meeting stage gate deliverables Complete competitor benchmarks document current packaging data Assist with production floor challenges as needed. Expected Areas of Competence: Must have a positive attitude, great work ethic, & excellent communication skills as a supportive collaborator in team projects Must have a basic understanding of materials, industrial packaging design and validation approaches. Must have strong organizational skills, be self-driven and proactive. Must have intellectual curiosity, creative thinking, and problem-solving skills. Ability to self-regulate project timelines, successfully manage changes & enable on time delivery. Ability to create drawings, build samples, and specifications for new structural packaging components. Ability to perform & document quality assurance reviews for components & packaging Ability to calculate cost savings potential for projects. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Requirements: *Candidate must be currently enrolled as a sophomore, junior, or senior in an accredited college or university for the duration of the assignment and pursuing a bachelor\'s degree in packaging engineering/science.
