Actalent Lead Mechanical Engineer in Sturtevant, Wisconsin
Job Description: Lead Mechanical Engineer
This individual will be working on projects from start to finish. You will collaborate with customers to define project parameters, conceptualize designs, present concepts, secure projects, and design them. Post customer approval, you will assist in building the project.
Responsibilities
Mechanical Design of Custom Systems (65%):
Design in SolidWorks.
Collaborate with the lead engineer to develop innovative mechanical designs.
Work with customers to solve production problems.
Create assembly and detail drawings.
Design and detail custom machined components and complete bill of materials for part ordering.
Develop expertise in material and labor costs for strategic applications.
Participate in design reviews.
Perform system cycle time, load, and spatial analysis.
Develop system sequence of operation to meet production requirements.
Control and maintain mechanical design budgets and schedules.
Support Assembly and Debug (35%):
Validate parts upon receipt and organize for assembly.
Work with machine shops and fabricators.
Support shop technicians during assembly.
Debug mechanisms after assembly.
Develop relationships with vendors and fabricators.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or 5+ years equivalent work experience, ideally in automation.
Proficiency in SolidWorks with 5+ years of experience.
Strong project management skills. Working on projects from cradle to grave.
Excellent communication skills with internal employees (electrical, panel, software, production).
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and AutoCAD.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Good working knowledge of hydraulics and hydraulic components is desirable.
Creativity and problem-solving skills.
Experience with customer relations.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $110000.00
