Job Title: Field Service Technician

Job Description

This individual will be in a client-facing role caring for customer's needs with regard to installation, training, and ongoing support of new and installed equipment. This position is the primary interface between the manufacturer and customer after a machine is shipped. When not travelling to customer sites, the Field Service Technician will check out and test new machines prior to shipping from the corporate headquarters.

Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, and support new and existing equipment.

  • Provide training and ongoing support to customers.

  • Act as the primary interface between the manufacturer and the customer post-shipment.

  • Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and wiring.

  • Test new machines prior to shipping from corporate headquarters.

  • Travel domestically and internationally to customer sites for installation and support (75% travel/year).

Essential Skills

  • Strong mechanical and electrical experience with regard to installation and wiring.

  • Excellent client interaction skills.

  • Experience with packaging machines highly preferred.

  • Bilingual (Spanish) highly preferred.

  • Active passport for international travel.

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of field service technician/customer-facing experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with OEM equipment.

Work Environment

The noise level is moderate to high. Employees are regularly exposed to dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and unpleasant odors. The work environment is clean. When traveling, the per diem is $60/day for domestic travel and $100/day for international travel. Travel is primarily domestic (75+% of the time) with some international travel. Typically, travel involves leaving on Sunday or Monday and returning on Friday, usually home on weekends for domestic trips. International trips may last 2-3 weeks.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $41.00
