This position works out of our Sturgis, MI location in the Abbott Nutrition division. Our Nutrition business develops science-based nutrition products for people of all ages, from helping babies and children grow to keeping adult bodies strong and active. The Production Supervisor II, Process Improvement will actively support the implementation of the Liquid Processing Department improvement strategy. You will be responsible for leading and facilitating continuous improvement initiatives across the department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in liquid processing operations, in addition to experience utilizing Lean methodologies, process optimization, and change management. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improvements, implement best practices, and drive operational efficiency.

  • Develop action plans with processing department leadership to improve their processes.

  • Utilize data-driven insights to identify trends, root causes, and areas for improvement.

  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and identify opportunities for enhancement.

  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize processes and increase efficiency.

  • Identify and analyze current processes to identify areas for improvement.

  • Publish weekly report out to leadership on process improvement journey and milestones achieved.

  • Champion positive employee relations by maintaining a high-profile presence on the floor, direct engagement with employees, regular open communications and encouraging knowledge sharing and open exchange of ideas.

  • Publish the number of action items opened each week, closed actions, current open actions, and delinquent action items.

  • Participate/Lead Kaizen events generated from problem solving escalations.

  • Collaborate with all cross-functional departments as needed to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Communicate progress, challenges, and successes to department leadership and site management.

  • Coordinate with team members to ensure project milestones are met within established timelines.

  • Implement change management methodologies to ensure successful adoption of process improvements.

  • Model and promote the behaviors that support a continuously improving EHS culture.

  • Model and promote the behaviors that ensure delivery of high-quality products for customers while maintaining compliance with Abbott policies and procedures.

You’ll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma / GED

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, science, food technology or engineering OR 3+ years of work experience combined with education

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule

Preferred Qualifications

  • Leadership experience

  • Lean / Six Sigma experience

  • CAPA experience

  • Experience working in a regulated industry

The base pay for this position is $72,700.00 – $145,300.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
