Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor
Job Description
Seeking a first shift maintenance supervisor to manage the day to day operations of the maintenance team. Will be responsible for leading a team of mechanics. The maintenance supervisor will not be performing any hands on maintenance, and is not even allowed to touch the tools on the floor. This is a very hands off role where they will be supervising a team of maintenance technicians on the production floor. However, the candidate will need to be knowledgeable and have a strong understanding of industrial maintenance in order to successfully manage the team.
They currently have 30 glass lathes machines, and 10 draw towers that require regular maintenance. The supervisory will also be managing the facilities maintenance if needed for the plant.
Job Duties:
scheduling all PM work for the plant
ordering parts based on current and prospective needs
ensuring that the day to day operations of the team run smoothly
currently the work is about 50% on the fly and 50% preventative
checking the completed work of the maintenance team
Maintain CMMS software system
Work Closely with the Equipment and Facilities manager on budgeting and scheduling projects
Oversee Plant shutdown in Fall and Spring
Ordering and maintaining spare parts inventory
Contacting and scheduling outside Contractors
Conduct quarterly safety meetings with trade employees
Oversee janitorial contractor
will be tasked with doing performance reviews for the team members
will be involved in disciplinary action if any needs to be taken with the team members
Hard Skills
Minimum 4 years of industrial maintenance experience
Minimum 2 years in a supervisory/lead role
Microsoft Excel and Word experience
Strong mechanical aptitude
Work Environment
Will be on the shop floor 90% of the day.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 7am-4pm ideally
(can be flexible with a 6-3 or 8-5 if needed) (no on-call work necessary)
