PNC Software Engineering Director - Retail Banking in Strongsville, Ohio

As a Software Engineering Director for Retail Banking within PNC's Technology organization, you will sit within one of PNC’s technology and innovation hubs. Certain job responsibilities may require in-person, in office activities on a regular basis, with a strong preference with a strong preference for of one of PNC's technology and innovation hubs (Pittsburgh, PA / Cleveland, OH / Birmingham, AL / Dallas, TX / Phoenix, AZ)

This role is a leader of technology leaders providing roadmaps, strategy and solutions to solve for business initiatives within retail banking; partnering closely with business leaders to understand their needs and goals will be vital for developing new and modernizing current applications used in our branches, ATMs, and customer care centers.

As a leader, you will utilize your deep technology abilities with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), application engineering and architecture while applying your understanding of the products and services within one or more of the bank’s segments of business.

This role will specialize in creating processes and software which will automate systems for efficiencies and cost reduction.

• Banking or Financial Services Technology; specifically, retail banking IVR, CRMs (sales and service), and ATMs

• Strong third-party management

• Experience with large, complex financial services or banking industries

Job Description

  • Directs all activities and initiatives related to application services for an entire organization or for major clients.

  • Directs and manages the delivery of large or complex application development projects. Defines strategies and client needs focused on technology development.

  • Maintains relationships with clients; communicates with IT and business management. Monitors prompt response and support for technical issues.

  • Ensures high standards and quality of technical work. Directs reviews of tools and technologies for improving performance and reducing costs.

  • Directs, motivates, develops and manages the performance of the management team and key staff.

Work Experience

Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree and higher level education such as a Masters degree, PhD, or certifications. Industry -relevant experience is typically 8+ years. At least 5 years of prior management experience is typically required. Proven leadership experience with a large scope of responsibility is required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.
