Actalent Senior Controls Engineer in Streamwood, Illinois

Job Description

  • Collaborate closely with the Controls Engineering Manager to empower team members and enhance project quality.

  • Efficiently manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.

  • Contribute to the success of Project Teams as the Controls Engineering lead.

  • Work with Project Managers to ensure timely success of each system.

  • Coordinate inter-departmentally to guarantee successful system delivery.

  • Support the installation team in the field to ensure successful startup of new systems.

  • Collaborate with the service manager to coordinate Controls Engineering support in the field.

  • Provide technical expertise to the Controls Engineering Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program PLC/HMI logic to meet specific customer specifications.

  • Configure network devices using protocols such as DeviceNet, Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet IP, and Ethernet IP (safe).

  • Perform startup, testing, and debugging of hardware.

  • Offer feedback to internal management for significant improvements to existing products or processes.

Technical Proficiencies

  • Proficient in programming Allen Bradley PLCs and HMIs.

  • Skilled in reading and understanding electrical prints.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

  • Experience in robotic programming is preferred but not required.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or two-year college/technical school equivalent.

  • 5+ years of Controls Engineering experience.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $145000.00/yr.
