MANAGER, MARKETPLACE OPERATIONS (Timberland Americas)
What will you do?
A day in the life of the Manager, Marketplace Operations at Timberland looks a little like this.
You will be responsible for continuously improving business and corporate policies and procedures to meet the market demands. You will also manage seamless implementation and adoption of systemic initiatives used to drive the business forward. As a trusted member of the Americas Business Planning team, you will report to the Director, Marketplace Operations and Analytics. Your subject matter expert will help to protect the brand in the marketplace and support the business towards realization of brand goals and strategies. Your network and liaisons will include senior management as well as the Sales, Legal, Digital, Global Business Technology (GBT), Planning, Finance, Merchandising teams, and VF Counterparts.
Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more. You will:
Manage customer account database for offline information (door counts, tiers, retail environments, closures, online approval status and notes)
Administer the annual realignment process: run reports to assist Sales Directors with making changes, consolidate requests, present for approval, have systems updated
Facilitate the seasonal Go To Market (GTM) and Go Sell process to ensure system and sales tool readiness
Review and maintain policies used to guide business practices
How you will do it:
Go To Market (GTM) and Go Sell readiness
Lead multi-department seasonal checklist process, collaborating with process owners to ensure all necessary systems are prepared and tested before season launch
Oversee the Tree physical sample process
Coordinate with Merchandising to ensure seasonal buys support strategy
Ensure financial commitments are met
Liaise with the Distribution Center Operations and Customer Service teams to ensure timely entry and arrival of samples
Collaborate with B2B Team to prepare and test digital sales tool readiness
Manage order testing process to identify and resolve issues
Gather and convey all necessary seasonal tools and information to sales team ahead of seasonal launch
In Season maintenance
Collaborate with supply planning and customer service to identify and resolve issues preventing successful order book delivery
Policies
Conduct annual review
Collaborate with the PRO, Customer Service, Credit and Direct to Consumer (DTC) teams to ensure consistency and standardization where possible
Represent Timberland in VF’s drive to create and maintain corporate policies that encompass all brands and channels of distribution
Create tools to support and enforce policies
Marketplace system initiatives
Participate in discovery sessions by communicating business needs, advocating for best in class, supporting testing, setting up and maintaining business systems, socializing and training end users where appropriate to include B2B (Business to Business), Elastic (the search artificial intelligence company), Polaris, DTC store initiatives, business intelligence (BI) tools, MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) tracking
Coach and develop a best-in-class Marketplace Operations team via the VF Leadership expectations
Engage in a rigorous performance management process, clear communication of the strategic direction, and direct and continual feedback
Provide opportunities to grow the team’s skill set and talents
Provide backup for other members of the Marketplace team
Ad hoc projects required as business needs arise
What do you need to succeed?
We all have unique skills that we bring to work and celebrate every day. For this role, there are foundational skills you’ll need to succeed and excel. Additionally, while formal education in a related field such as a bachelor’s degree, is great to have, we are most interested in your 5-7 years of omnichannel experience and professional achievements .
The foundational skills you will need in this position are:
Strong analytical skills
Robust attention to detail; highly organized
Superior computer skills required (Microsoft Suite, SmartSheet, Power BI, BOBJ/Query tools, etc.)
Aptitude to quickly learn new programs
Outstanding interpersonal skills with an emphasis on building partnerships, managing conflict and negotiating
The ability to lead, coach and develop staff to improve performance and achieve professional goals
The talent to inspire confidence, respect, enthusiasm and cooperation

Hiring Range :
$88,000.00 USD - $110,000.00 USD annually
Incentive Potential : This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
