Job Summary

Manages warehouse operations and warehouse team. Independently develops and implements improvements and strategies to optimize operations that meet or exceed KPIs . Assesses staffing and material levels and ensures supplies are adequate for work needs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead distribution operations with a strong focus on safety, teamwork, and service.

    · Develop and promote the company and warehouse objectives and directives.

    · Manage the internal Warehouse team members with a focus on development, coaching, and employee engagement

    · Provide assessments of new hires, temporary workers, and other team members to ensure appropriate progress is being maintained, determine issue areas, and provide recommendations and tools to address those areas

    · Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPI’s), daily performance targets, reporting metrics, and variance thresholds for warehouse team members; ensure targets are met or exceeded driving accountability and problem resolution.

    · Identify cost savings, improvement, and safety measures to boost overall performance and proficiency and implement new measures, SOPs, and Best Practices based on findings.

    · Evaluate and monitor flow of materials through the warehouse process and develops and implements changes for process improvements.

    · Provide reports and statistical analysis making recommendations for improvement/change

    · Schedule and lead team meetings to maintain open and effective communication.

    · Assist in the preparation of annual operating budgets and capital expenditures for the distribution center to meet or exceeds budget

    · Ensure complete compliance with ERU food and workplace safety policies and all government food safety and sanitation regulations (ex. FDA, HACCP, GMP, OSHA)

    Qualifications / Minimum Requirements

    List Education / Certification / Licenses / Training / Supervisory Responsibilities

    · Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business or related field; or equivalent experience

    · Minimum of 5 years’ experience in warehouse operations/management

    · Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a leadership role managing high volume operations

    · Prior experience in a food or beverage operation preferred

    · Strong understanding of warehouse optimization, labor law, OSHA regulations, and transportation regulations

    · ISO certified operations, Six Sigma Training, or DMAIC training preferred but not required

    · Experience with Warehouse Management and ERP systems (JDE preferred)

    · Intermediate computer skills including e-mail, word processing, and spreadsheets

    · Demonstrated leadership ability

    · Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    · Ability to multi-task and prioritize under pressure

    · Ability to work in cross-functional teams

    · Excellent organization and problem-solving skills

    · Detail-oriented nature

    · Ability to work without supervision

    · Some travel may be required

    The Warehouse Supervisor may have to spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers.

    The warehouse is a busy facility. The Warehouse Supervisor will have exposure to a moderate level of constant noise that may make it difficult to concentrate. The distribution center conditions vary greatly in temperatures from hot and cold with exposure to dust and fumes.

    The Warehouse Supervisor may have to manage a number of projects at one time, and may be interrupted frequently to meet the needs and requests of members, residents, clients and contractors. The Warehouse Supervisor will need excellent organizational and time and stress management skills to complete the required tasks.
