DESCRIPTION

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Enhancing Product Quality : By creating and maintaining high-quality specifications, drawings, and models, you’ll ensure Cummins products meet stringent company, industry, national, and international standards.

  • Driving Efficiency : Your advanced skills in CAD and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) will streamline the design process, reducing errors and improving overall efficiency.

  • Supporting Engineering Teams : By generating concept models and participating in Drawing Quality Reviews, you’ll provide essential support to engineering teams, facilitating better design decisions.

  • Maintaining Configuration Control : Utilizing CAD data management tools, you’ll ensure that all design data is securely managed and accurately maintained, preventing costly mistakes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Proficiency in CAD Modeling : Create detailed and accurate CAD models that adhere to Cummins’ standards, enabling effective system-level analyses like Dimensional Variation Analysis and Finite Element Analysis.

  • In-depth Mechanical Systems Knowledge : Develop a thorough understanding of mechanical systems to design innovative and robust solutions that meet both Cummins’ and customer expectations across all lifecycle stages.

  • Specification Creation : Produce comprehensive specifications, including solid models, engineering bills of materials, and detailed drawings, ensuring they meet all relevant standards and clearly communicate design intent.

  • Configuration and Change Management : Establish and maintain product baselines, manage changes effectively from concept to obsolescence, and ensure the integrity of product artifacts through rigorous configuration management.

  • Effective Communication : Develop and deliver clear, multi-mode communications tailored to the needs of different audiences, ensuring everyone involved understands the design and its requirements.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

High school diploma, certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience in an appropriate STEM field is required.

Regionally applicable certification or two-year Associates Degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field of study may be required.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

Prefer significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Information:

  • This position is in CES ATA Design team and would focus on current product related support activities. This individual would have to work with global drafting group, CN planners, VPCR change managers and other engineering team members to get the work executed.

  • Expectation is that this person is good with 3D CAD modelling including wiring/cabling modules, have good knowledge of drafting practices, GD&T and Windchill release process to own and execute VPCR work.

  • Basic understanding of DVA's/tolerance stack up would be added advantage.

final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s

qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
