Job Summary

Work within the Integrated Business Plan (IBP) process to develop and manage mid and long range production plans including forecast for material planning while considering current inventory, obsolescence, shelf life of product, lead times, product life cycles and production capacity.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

· Draws up master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders

· Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements

· Plans and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times

· Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions

· Prepares production reports

· Oversees and prepares lists of required materials, tools, and equipment

· Oversees and prepares purchase orders to obtain materials, tools, and equipment

· Identify and implement system and process improvements within the supply chain to enable overall business process improvement

· Further develop existing supply programs to improve current days of inventory and cash cycle.

· Analyze inventory levels and product demands to determine reorder levels and safety stocks that will ensure product availability and minimize inventory costs

· Drive, promote and develop positive communication within the IBP process

· Work closely with Planners and Production to determine the appropriate levels of stock for Finished goods and components to minimize lead times

· Develop and maintain master schedule to meet requirements established in the IBP process

· Review and update production schedules and material requirements

· Support new product development through cooperative scheduling of model introductions, end of life and prototype processing with the potential suppliers

· Participate in the evaluation of quotations from our contracted manufacturers to assure all pertinent information is available to analyze for best possible price, quality and supply services to meet our strategic needs for the product life

· Coordinate and plan materials requirements for new product introductions

· Assess impact to materials availability and production schedule from customer sales opportunities that may be affecting demand for product over and above the plan

· Review material shortages, stock outages, and safety stock levels while working with Planners and Production to meet customer requirements. Propose changes when needed

· Attend staff and department meetings, as needed

· Conduct routine plant visits

· Actively participate on EOE Teams that improve workplace safety, reduce waste and improve factory efficiencies

· Performs all other duties as assigned

· Adhere to ERU food safety policies and all government food safety and sanitation regulations (ex. FDA, HACCP, GMP, OSHA)

Qualifications / Minimum Requirements

· Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent, or equivalent combination of education or experience

· 5-8 years of experience in Manufacturing, materials management, supply chain management

· Excellent communcation skills, with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public

· Ablitiy to work within established processes while responding to requested needs

· Highly self-motivated, critical thinking and problem solving

· Experience with Product Development and understand of product life cycles

· Experience with Planning/Materials tools (MRP, inventory analysis, part or supplier profiles, etc)

· Good interpersonal skills and keen attention to detail

· Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

· Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

· Intermediate to Advanced computer skills including e-mail, word processing, and spreadsheets

· Excellent written communication, with the ability to write reports, business correspondances, and precodeural manuals

· Ability to multi-task and prioritize under pressure

· Ability to work in cross-functional teams
