Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer - Stony Point, NY

Job Description

This individual will be responsible for supporting new product development (NPD) throughout their life-cycle and some designing and detailing of new products.

Responsibilities

• Concept Modeling in 3D and 2D

• Documenting Design intent on 2D Drawings, ensuring parametric requirements are maintained

• Performing Tolerance Stack-Up Analysis

• Verifying material selection/process is fit for use/function

• Supporting existing product design changes

• Creating 3D models and assemblies accompanied by manufacturing, assembly, and installation documentation

Essential Skills

• 2 to 5 years experience with 3D modeling and drafting (SolidWorks and AutoCAD preferred)

• Experience in new product development

• Knowledge of sheet metal, lighting power distribution, electronics circuit design, and electronics design

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks

• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering, mechanical design, and drafting

• Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)

• Experience with electronic components and electronics development

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME)

• 1 to 5 years experience in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or ProE

• Experience in SolidWorks rendering is a plus

• Working knowledge of Good Documentation Practices

• Experience entering Bill of Materials (BOMs)

Work Environment

The position is based in Stony Point, NY and requires onsite presence. The work environment includes a small engineering team that promotes development and collaboration across teams. The company offers great benefits and employee offerings. The dress code is business casual.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
