Description

Stony Brook University is undergoing tremendous growth. Our Child and Adolescent Psychiatry program is expanding to meet the growing need for psychiatric care for pediatric patients in the community. We are looking for individuals who welcome the challenge and satisfaction of working with a growing team of clinicians, educators and researchers who are motivated to enhance the range of services provided to children and families.

The Clinical Assistant Professor will serve as an Attending Psychiatrist in the Child and Adolescent Outpatient Clinic of Stony Brook University Hospital. Responsibilities are to include direct patient care in the child and adolescent outpatient clinic, including diagnostic evaluations, follow-up care, and teaching and supervision of medical students, residents and fellows. Shifts totaling forty hours per week with cross coverage as necessary, including weekend/holiday coverage for a ten-bed Inpatient Child Psychiatry Unit with on call approximately once every 9-10 weeks.

Additionally, Stony Brook Psychiatry has experienced rapid growth in telepsychiatry with immense success, currently offering a byrbrid work schedule. Please note, the telemedicine policy could be subject to change by Stony Brook University and Stony Brook Hospital if needed.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
MD/DO degree (or foreign equivalent). Board Certification or Eligibility in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Eligibility for New York State licensure.

Preferred Qualifications:
Clinical experience in a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Outpatient Program. Track record of research. Teaching experience in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Teaching experience in General Psychiatry.
