Description
We are offering a permanent employment opportunity in our non-profit organization for a Senior Procurement Specialist. The role involves working in a dynamic and vibrant environment, handling various responsibilities related to procurement, vendor management, contracts, and asset management.
Responsibilities:
• Engage in research to identify and evaluate the quality, price, and availability of goods and services.
• Foster and maintain strong relationships with vendors, team members, and the community.
• Organize and coordinate demonstrations with vendors related to materials, products, and services.
• Verify and secure certificates of insurance including general liability, auto, workers compensation, errors and omissions, and other required certifications.
• Review and process purchase requisitions, ensuring accuracy, compliance with purchasing procedures, and adherence to applicable laws.
• Aid in the creation and development of credit applications, contractual documents, formal bids, requests for quotations and proposals.
• Oversee and audit inventory, generating reports related to asset management.
• Input procurement data into spreadsheets and databases, generating records and reports related to procurement and contract functions.
• Establish and manage a list of prequalified suppliers for projects as required.
• Train and oversee the work of employees and assist requestors with entering requisitions.
• Act as a liaison between staff and suppliers to resolve discrepancies including late, incorrect, damaged shipments, outstanding orders, back orders, and invoice inconsistencies.

Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Procurement Specialist or in a similar role
• Proficient in working with contracts and government contracts
• Experience in public works and public sector organizations
• Understanding and experience in government procurement processes
• Familiarity with bidding processes and contract negotiation
• Ability to handle approved requisitions efficiently
• Proficient in data entry and related software
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Proficiency in using procurement software and tools
• Strong understanding of the non-profit sector and its unique needs and challenges.
