The incumbent is administratively accountable to the Vice President, Dean and Director, Division of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, through the Associate Vice President of the Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service.\ \ This position is located in Enid, Oklahoma and provides administrative leadership for counties which comprise the West Extension District. Leadership responsibilities include:\ \ * Personnel and fiscal management, budget development, performance evaluation, employee relations, staff recruitment and development, and public relations/marketing.\ * Leadership for the members of the district team, which includes area specialists, district program specialists and county educators.\ * Ensure high quality extension programs in cooperation with appropriate Extension and research leaders by overseeing all phases of program planning, implementation, evaluation and fund development.\ * Assure compliance with applicable laws regarding nondiscrimination and equal opportunity in employment and program delivery.\ * Provide career, professional, and personal development opportunities for employees.\ * Serve as a facilitator with Extension educators and county budget decision-makers to fund Extension personnel and programs.\ * Support close working relationships with advisory committees, county commissioners, commodity groups, and other users of Extension programs as well as OSU administrators, department heads, center directors, program leaders, human resource director, sponsored programs office, OSU Foundation and others.\ * Actively contribute as part of the Extension leadership team to facilitate statewide leadership and management uniformity across the extension districts.\ * Day to day interaction with state administrators regarding personnel and fiscal matters.\ * Assume other duties as necessary due to vacancies or for other reasons as assigned by the office of the Associate Vice President.\ \ Additionally this individual is expected to:\ * Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, etc., related to equal opportunity, civil rights, and affirmative action.\ * Travel throughout the district, state, and occasionally out-of-state. Travel budget provided.\ * OSU Extension professionals are hired into the organization not a specific geographical location. It is possible that future circumstances may require relocation.\ * Due to communication expectations of the position, the incumbent will be required to maintain cellular or other electronic communication device.
