We are recruiting an Engineering Supervisor to join the team located in Stevenage, Hertfordshire. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all Hard FM services are delivered in a confident and efficient manner at the Client data centre.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage the day-to-day engineering maintenance across client sites using in house team and external contractors.

  • Liaise with site engineering team and ensure shift cover is maintained 24/7.

  • Become LV and HV SAP for the site/account, helping to maintain contractual HVAP levels across the engineering team.

  • Produce a weekly report to the Account manager, giving an overview of the site works for the week previous, and the upcoming week.

  • Maintain all electrical and mechanical plant and services to appropriate industry standards.

  • Co-ordinate and supervise all contractor hard service activities, including Risk assessments, Method statements and insuring QHSE permitting is upheld at all times.

  • Supervise specialist contractors during service visits as and when required.

  • Supervise on day-to-day basis engineer team, ensuring standards are maintained within the team.

  • Manage subcontractor visits and schedule site engineering team accordingly to ensure the client security escorting rules are followed at all times.

  • Scrutinise regularly all aspects of work carried out by engineering team, and address any issues.

  • Liaise with the Client, CM and Technical Ops Lead in relation to the planning and organisation of works that may affect the normal business activities of the sites.

  • Assist account manager in addressing any outstanding faults on site, including communication with subcontractors on labour availability, parts lead-times, etc.

  • Maintain relationships with key Stakeholders and give regular updates with regards to ongoing site maintenance issues.

  • Technical awareness of critical environments and knowledge of UPS, Chiller Plant, AHU, CHP, PDU’s, Gen Sets, Vertical transportation systems, LV & HV Distribution and switching gear etc.

  • Work with Account manager to identify part replacements and obtain quotations relating to the Asset Life Cycle Management Plan.

  • Provide technical management reports as and when required.

  • Participate in emergency response escalation process as directed by Account manager.

  • Escalate urgent issues identified through to the AM and normal escalation procedure.

  • Participation within ISO14001 Audits QHSE audits/Client audits.

  • Support cost-effective procurement of engineering maintenance services and operate within annual engineering budgets for maintenance and repair of these services.

  • Responsibility for ensuring all statutory related engineering maintenance documentation/records are kept in clearly identifiable and retrievable systems. To include site log books and O&M’s.

  • Ensure all PPM’s are carried out to schedule on time and also ensure completion of all Client Service Requests ensuring closing and completion in line with Account SLA’s.

  • Liaise with CBRE GWS QHSE Manager to ensure audit compliance are always met.

  • Review site SOP’s, ERA’s, and site scenario training with on site engineering team.

  • Run mock drills and toolbox talks with feedback given to account manager.

  • Ensure all site works are carried out in line with CBRE GWS QHSE procedures, using the permit to work system where applicable and action improvements identified during the building and workplace inspections and reviews.

  • Manage all technical training requirements including competency assessments, critical services training and scenario training exercises.

  • Maintain electrical and mechanical plant and services to appropriate industry standards.

  • Respond to customer requests in compliance with agreed service levels.

Dimensions

  • Directly accountable to the Account Manager.

  • The post holder has directly reporting staff.

  • This post carries no direct budgetary responsibility, but financial awareness is required.

  • Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week contract, 7am – 4 pm.

Person Specification

Essential

  • MUST pass security clearance checks (SC level)

  • Strong People Management with ability to motivate and inspire teams to work together to drive efficiencies

  • Excellent facilitation, communication skills at all levels

  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and pro-active

  • Confident decision maker

  • Excellent Customer Service Delivery Skills

  • PC Literate - PC and MS office skills

  • Recognised 3rd Level Qualification in Electrical Engineering or similar

  • BMS Controls Experience / HVAC Experience essential

  • Good technical knowledge as well as the ability to project manage and multitask

  • Ability to work to a high standard against agreed timescales with limited supervision

  • Knowledge of emergency response/standby/call out activities and protocols

  • Experience of operation of UPS, Standby Power and Lifts, Boilers, HVAC systems.

  • Experience of operation of Electrical System/Switchgear/Earthing Systems of both LV & HV

  • Able to meet requirements to be become a company SAP for LV / HV systems.

Desirable

  • Health & Safety qualification, IOSH or equivalent

  • Experience and knowledge of ISO14001

  • Operational experience of managing QHSE Systems

  • Experience of Quality Management Systems

  • Full, clean driving license
