Jefferson County Department of Job and Family Services Unit Support Worker II in Steubenville, Ohio
Jefferson County Department of Job and Family Services Vacancy: • One (1) Unit Support Worker II • Reports to: Income Maintenance Supervisor • Starting wage $13.78 per hour Duties: (include but not limited to) • Assist and screens applicants and/or recipients for all public assistance. • Reviews application and/or reapplication documents, verifications, case records for completeness and advises clients of needed information. • Assists Income Maintenance employees in all areas. • Interviews and processes applications for PRC assistance. • Answers telephones, takes messages and handles routine inquiries. Refers clients to proper internal personnel and when appropriate to other government agencies. • Works under the direct supervision of the Unit Supervisor. • Mails out application/reapplication packets, schedules client appointments for PRC, when necessary, writes and types of reports, composes and types letters and entries into case records. • Enters data into computer system and maintains records of daily activity of daily/monthly activities as assigned by supervisor. • Maintains accurate records for reporting and audit purposes. • Work in the Ohio Benefits Portal and assists clients in use of customer service terminals, indexes documents in the EDMS scan system. • Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: • High School diploma or equivalent • Three (3) months experience or college level courses in public relations, business administration or related courses and/or experience. • Excellent computer skills included but not limited to: MS Office, computer/laptops, etc. • Regular and predictable attendance.
