Technician, Pipeline (Steubenville, OH) - 000ETL Description Enterprise Products Partners L.P. is one of the largest publicly traded partnerships and a leading North American provider of midstream energy services to producers and consumers of natural gas, NGLs, crude oil, refined products and petrochemicals. The partnership’s assets include approximately 50,000 miles of pipelines; 260 million barrels of storage capacity for NGLs, crude oil, refined products and petrochemicals; and 14 billion cubic feet of natural gas storage capacity. The Pipeline Technician complies with all Federal and State regulations and responsible for the measurement of high and low pressure product quality systems. Installing, operating, calibrating, programming, and maintaining gas and liquid chromatographs. Company policies and procedures to accurately locate and prevent damage to company pipelines. The incumbent also effectively uses maps, alignment sheets, and drawings to determine potentially affected company pipelines, contact excavators or landowners as necessary to review proposed excavation, uses an electronic locator to locate the pipeline(s), probe, and stake pipeline(s), monitor excavations and complete crossing report(s) to prevent damage to company pipelines. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: + Collecting and transporting gas and liquid samples. + Developing and maintaining meter test schedules and staying in compliance with producer contracts. + Installing equipment from drawings, schematics, and manufacturer's manuals. + Troubleshooting and rectifying equipment failures using voltmeters and test equipment. + Planning, scheduling, and coordinating work with other departments to ensure timely completion of equipment installation and repair. + Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting EFM radio telemetry system both full duplex and spread spectrum systems. + Obtaining minimum Operator Qualifications (OQs) and required classroom training within 3 months and be able to continuously maintain the qualifications/training. + Maintenance of the pipeline right-of-way (install pipeline markers and conduct ROW inspections) , locating, identification, and marking of pipelines in accordance with the company's One Call programs (including overseeing excavations and line crossings) + Maintenance on other equipment such as block valves, control valves, valve actuators, etc, assisting with replacement of pumps, motors, valves, and other equipment as needed. + The ability to understand and maintain compliance with all DOT guidelines pertaining to pipeline product transportation as well as maintain compliance with the company's and federal regulations/guidelines. + Enforcing the company’s excavation, one-call, and damage prevention policies including exercising stop work obligation if unsafe conditions exist. Qualifications The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications: + High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required. + Technical certification or equivalent training in an energy related field preferred. + At least 3 years previous experience in the measurement field is desired. + Strong mechanical and electrical (instrument and electronics) aptitude. + Able to read maps, prints, drawings, and technical manuals. + Able to prepare technical reports. + Possess basic computer skills and be proficient in MS Office applications. + Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills. + Ability to interface effectively with customers, regulatory agencies, vendors, suppliers, company contacts and other pipeline operators. + Ability to prioritize and respond to multiple requests from several sources. + Ability to work with or without direct supervision and alone or as part of a team. + Must possess a valid driver's license. + Must have reliable means of contact for call-out purposes; willingness to work overtime and handle callouts. Must live or relocate to within 1 hour response time of job assignment.
