Position Summary
The Finishing Technician plays a critical role at Akina Pharmacy, ensuring that compounded sterile medications are capped, crimped, and labeled to meet the highest quality standards. This position requires great attention to detail, a strong sense of accountability, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment.
As a Finishing Technician, you will manage one of the final stages of the sterile compounding process by ensuring that each vial meets the container closure standards set by Akina Pharmacy. In addition, you will assist with any other tasks assigned by the Pharmacist - Production Manager.

You’ll have success here if you value clear processes and get, want, and have capacity to do the following things:
Crimping and Sealing: Ensure precise and secure crimping of compounded products to maintain sterility, safety, and integrity. Continuously inspect and adjust processes to meet quality standards and ensure product reliability.
Labeling and Identification: Execute accurate and consistent labeling processes that comply with regulatory standards. Ensure labels are clear, legible, and properly affixed for correct product identification and usage guidance.
Quality Control and Assurance: Perform thorough quality control checks on crimped and labeled products to ensure adherence to exact specifications. Identify and document any deviations to maintain high-quality production standards.
Compliance and Documentation: Adhere to all SOPs and industry regulations for packaging and labeling. Maintain detailed and accurate records of batch numbers, beyond-use dates, and production logs for traceability and compliance.
Inventory and Supply Coordination: Monitor inventory levels of labeling and crimping supplies, coordinating proactively with purchasing staff to ensure uninterrupted production workflows.
We train our team to help them succeed, and everyone on our team helps with our success. In this role, you’ll be accountable for hitting the following numbers:
Crimp and seal containers of compounded sterile preparations (CSPs) (1000-2000 a day)
Draft and apply labels to finished CSPs (1000-2000 a day)
Ongoing weekly compliance and QC Tasks (3-5 per week)

Experience and Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or GED with work experience. Commitment to maintaining continuing education and staying updated on industry regulations and best practices.
Expertise: 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing department with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and compliance (preferred, not required).
Performance and Time Management: Proven ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and maintain productivity benchmarks in a fast-paced environment.
Communication and Collaboration: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with pharmacists, patients, and other team members. Collaborative mindset to ensure alignment with pharmacy operations and patient care goals.
Technology Skills: Proficiency in pharmacy management systems and software for prescription entry, inventory tracking, and workflow management (preferred, not required). Ability to learn and troubleshoot labelling and crimping equipment and technology as needed.
Preferred Experience in Compounding or Specialized Pharmacies: Familiarity with 503A or 503B compounding pharmacies (preferred, not required).
