Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Bookkeeper in Sterling, Virginia. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing invoices, reconciling bank and credit card statements, and performing various bookkeeping and accounting tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately process Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) invoices

• Conduct bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure financial records are up-to-date

• Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger

• Perform job cost duties and commission calculations as required

• Manage payroll entries and ensure they are correctly recorded

• Issue checks for payments and manage the outflow of capital

• Utilize bookkeeping software, such as QuickBooks Online and Projul, to maintain financial data

• Use Paychex and Microsoft Office for various administrative tasks

• Ensure all financial data is entered accurately and efficiently

• Participate in the month-end close process, ensuring all financial data is accounted for. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years experience in a bookkeeping role

• Proficiency in account reconciliation

• Experience handling accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)

• Skills in executing bank reconciliations

• Solid understanding and experience in bookkeeping practices

• Proficiency in data entry tasks

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills

• Experience in month end close procedures

• Payroll handling experience

• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Paychex software

• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
