ManpowerGroup Slitter Operator in Sterling Heights, Michigan

Our client in Sterling Heights MI is looking for an experienced Slitter Operator. This will be a 1st shift position. The Slitter Operator is responsible for the overall productivity of the slitter line, with a goal of 95% efficiency

What’s the Job?

• Build set-ups by placing spacers and knives onto the tension arm at specified widths for the steel coils to be cut to the customer’s specifications.

• Monitor the process of steel being cut, knowing the gauge of each coil and adjusting accordingly.

• Enter data for the exact specifications onto the appropriate form for data entry into the computer.

• Direct Slitter Helper how to stage coils to be processed for maximum efficiency.

• Safely drive the Hi-lo through the plant to move coils and skids to designated areas and operate the over-head crane to move coils from the slitter to packaging.

What’s Needed?

2 Years of Slitter experience preferred

Ability to lift 50 lbs through-out the day

Ability to operate a forklift

Comfortable training the Slitter Helper
