Job Description

We're 23,000 colleagues in more than 30 countries delivering oil, gas, wind and solar power to 170 million people worldwide. Taking on tough energy challenges is our job. Right now, we're facing an enormous task: supplying the world with the energy it needs, while lowering emissions.

We're up for the challenge. Are you?

The position

By joining our team in Marketing, Midstream & Processing you will have the opportunity to negotiate the customer contracts making Equinor reach its ambitions to transport and permanently store 30-50 million tons of CO2 per annum by 2035:

  • Lead negotiations of long-term commercial contracts with customers who aim to decarbonize their operations.

  • As a Leading Negotiator in Low Carbon Solutions, you will prepare, standardize, and negotiate a suite of agreements, including the Transport and Storage Agreement (TSA) for Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS), Non-Disclosure Agreements, Heads of Terms, and Letters of Intent.

  • Build trusted relationships with key counterparties; across various industries and various countries/cultures in Europe.

  • Prepare and present documentation for internal decision-making and to secure mandates.

  • Mature the Equinor offering and maximise value across projects through customer, industry, or geographic prioritisation. Desired outcome is that projects mature towards final investment decision and projects are realised.

  • Identify hurdles for progress and develop solutions to overcome them. If required, bring messages to governments to address these challenges and support public funding.

As Leading Negotiator in Low Carbon Solutions, you will be part of the team responsible for executing Equinor's Low Carbon future strategy and portfolio. The projects have high attention both at Equinor's executive level, amongst industrial partners, and in the broader scope of society.

You will participate in the stakeholder engagement and marketing team that is responsible for marketing, negotiations, commercial models and commercial agreements, supports the sourcing of funding, and develops trusted partner relations. The key to success will be to bring people, technology, and business cases together in new, structured, and innovative ways and work alongside the project asset team.

You

Some qualities are essential for Equinor. You identify with our values, open, collaborative, courageous and caring, which guide our decisions and help us succeed and grow. You make safety your priority and contribute to our zero-harm culture. For this position, we are also looking for:

  • Proven track record in negotiations and business development (deal closure), as well as proven ability to handle complex contracts and lead the negotiations against experienced counterpart(s).

  • A strong commercial, analytical and strategic mindset, and passion towards new emerging CCS solutions.

  • Experienced and curious of the broader energy and industry landscape, the political system, regulatory and policy frameworks; curiosity about the broader value chain, incl. end users and industrial partner.

  • Interested and able to develop business models and commercial structures in a low carbon/low margin context.

  • External orientation with ability to understand customer needs and assimilate complex information quickly.

  • Proven strong leadership skills and the ability to deliver through others.

  • Flexibility to travel, both domestically and internationally, when required.
