Our staff use a culturally affirming, person centered approach to help individuals and their families develop skills and resources to improve overall functioning, to instill hope, and to strengthen resiliency. Our programs work closely with community partners to address health disparities in our neighborhoods while also celebrating the strengths and resilience of our communities.POSITION OVERVIEW: The Other Licensed Professional (OLP) will provide community based mental health services in the home and other natural community-based settings, to children/youth designed to prevent the progression of behavioral health needs through early identification and intervention, and to assess the needs of children/youth for which behavioral health conditions have not yet been diagnosed. The OLP FFT uses the Functional Family Therapy (FFT) modality with (target population(s) - (each) with its own referral and reporting requirements. The therapist will provide, at a minimum, weekly one-hour, home-based family therapy sessions to clients. Therapist will utilize the FFT model with families who have adolescents between the ages of 10 and 18. Therapist will be required to carry a caseload of 10 to 15 families, providing services anywhere from eight to 26 weeks. This position requires flexibility in hours to meet families when they are available.KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (List the functions that are essential to achieve the goals):Conduct comprehensive evaluations and psychosocial assessmentsDevelop treatment plans in collaboration with clients and family members (as appropriate), to identify treatment needs and interventions and review/revise treatment plans to reflect client's treatment progress and changing problems/goals.Provide individual, group, family, collateral treatment and crisis services/interventionsAbility to internalize and work within the FFT philosophy and modelBe actively self-reflective & self-aware of how clinical and administrative practice impacts clients, families, and the communities we serveApproach work with an anti-racist lens and open to continuously learning and evolvingLiaise with families, schools, criminal justice, and other community agencies to coordinate careParticipate in clinical meetings, staff meetings, trainings, and supervision.Open and willing to receive constructive feedbackMaintain documentation according to the standards and time frames established by the Jewish Board, regulatory agencies and/or funding sourcesMaintain professional behaviors and ethical standards as established by licensing board, relevant professional association and the Jewish Board policies and procedures.Other duties as assigned.COMPENTENCIESStrong clinical direct practice skills and knowledge of evidenced based practicesStrong communication skills, ability to collaborate well in a multi-disciplinary teamEDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIRED:LMSW, LCSW, LMFT, LMHC, Licensed Creative Arts Therapist or Licensed Psychoanalysts in New York StatePrior experience with electronic health records and Microsoft OfficeTo perform the essential functions of this job the candidate must be able to travel within Staten Island carrying equipment such as a notebook, forms, laptop, mobile hotspot, and cell phone weighing up to approximately 10 pounds.A valid driver license and access to a vehicle (for Staten Island)EXPERIENCE REQUIRED / LANGUAGE PREFERENCE (List what the desire to reach goals):Experience treating children or adolescents is preferred. Fluency in a second language is preferred.COMPUTER SKILLS REQUIRED: Prior experience with electronic health records and Microsoft Office a plusVISUAL AND MANUAL DEXIERITY:Able to read data and documents, including spreadsheets, reports and Electronic Health Records in printed form and on computer screens.
