JOB DESCRIPTION

Shaner Hotels  has an opportunity for a Sales Tax Accountant for our growing team at the Corporate Office located in State College, Pennsylvania.  Consideration will be made for remote work arrangements. Job Requirements: Ability to prepare multi-state sales tax returns including keeping track of and monitoring rules and deadlines. Ability to find, interpret, and apply sales tax ordinances & regulation using both a tax research platform and state and local resources. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think both creatively and logically. Ability to function well in a fluid, changing environment while continuing to focus on excellent client service. Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills. Proficient with financial spreadsheets and accounting software. Experience researching and responding to tax notices and corresponding with auditors a plus. 4+ years of related work experience.  A bachelor's or associate degree in accounting is preferred.
