Provider Scheduler: Provider scheduling encompasses the process of organizing and managing the work hours and availability of healthcare providers, such as doctors, nurses, and other medical providers. It involves creating a schedule that ensures adequate coverage for patient appointments, emergency situations, and other healthcare services.

This person will manage provider templates, close provider templates. Provider templates determines the pace of each visit, as well as the number and type of patients a provider is seeing. scheduling. It’s an essential part of the providers operation. This person will automate certain criteria: visit type, patient type, appointment length in EPIC.

They will support provider modification - every provider has different visit blocks, return patient blocks. When the team is scheduling they map to certain blocks to book patients. Modifications are important because once the changes are made it goes into everyone's schedule.

They will need to follow up on task and make sure its completed.

Help with diagnostic and infusion templates.

They will follow up with New Patient Coordinators and Surgery Schedulers to make sure appointments and follow ups are completed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

EXCEL experience - use it for stack diagram, snapshot of all there space, what rooms, what providers are assigned to those rooms, basic knowledge is okay. EX: " on the 3rd floor who has clinic on Monday morning, is there rotating schedule, where do we have space to add providers, what ones are in clinic, etc."

EPIC experience is a huge plus. They schedule all patients in EPIC.

Communication - A good provider scheduler is able to communicate with physicians, in-house managers, and department heads

A good provider scheduler understands the rules behind the schedule, such as minimum staffing requirements and provider scheduling preferences
