The HR Technology & Analytics team provides data analytics, insights and systems solutions for human resources. This team collaborates closely with various business areas to analyze needs, design and implement tailored solutions, and establish the necessary support mechanisms to ensure long-term success. Whether addressing large-scale initiatives or smaller projects, the team is committed to enhancing HR operations through innovative and effective solutions.

The HR Technology and Analytics team is seeking a skilled BI Analyst (People/Workforce) to join our team and develop effective solutions that meet customer needs.

We are open to a remote work or hybrid work arrangement (combination of onsite and work from home) within the United States. The onsite work location is Stanford Redwood City Campus, 505 Broadway, Redwood City, California.

JOB PURPOSE:

Under limited supervision, perform moderately complex project and analytical work in business intelligence activities, focused on enterprise-wide People Analytics, that delivers actionable insights to customers in Stanford University Human Resources and across the University.

CORE DUTIES*:

  • Design and implement dashboards and reports in People Analytics topic areas, including but not limited to Oracle HCM areas of Absence, Benefits, Compensation, Core HR, Learning, Payroll, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Time and Labor.

  • Perform assigned activities involving decision support systems, query and reporting, including developing Oracle HCM reporting/analytics specifications and deliverables in Oracle BI Publisher (BIP), Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence (OTBI), and Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI).

  • Collaborate with application developers, end users, vendors, and management to ensure the creation and delivery of business intelligence solutions. Facilitate working sessions with central and distributed end users and management to identify and document current information flows, data models, reporting systems, user populations, and coordinate with current and future initiatives impacting reporting.

  • Use reports and analyses to identify potentially problematic data, make corrections, and eliminate root causes for a range of complex data problems, and recommend possible solutions and communicate their organizational impact.

  • Perform fit-gap analysis comparing existing reporting solutions with BI strategy and assess compliance with best practices and established standards.

  • Participate in user acceptance testing of new BI analysis and reporting systems, upgrades, enhancements and change requests; plan, conduct and document results of testing.

  • Originate and coordinate data governance/stewardship assignments.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience. Experience in a quantitative or behavioral science discipline such as data science, economics, industrial/organizational psychology, finance, statistics or engineering.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Extensive background with report and analysis design and application of User Interface and User Experience best practices, including defining and developing reporting/analytics in Oracle HCM platforms (OTBI, FDI; experience with BIP is a plus), across multiple HCM subject areas.

  • Experience with at least one Oracle HCM subject area including Absence, Benefits, Compensation, Core HR, Learning, Payroll, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Time and Labor.

  • Experience with Oracle HCM data tables/structures.

  • Experience with relational and dimensional logical data modeling, including with SQL in Oracle HCM reporting and analytics.

  • Experience in data analysis and root cause analysis, with problem solving and analytical thinking capabilities.

  • Knowledge of computer system capabilities, business processes, and workflow.

  • Ability to understand and apply the data and analytics product development lifecycle and project management techniques.

  • Demonstrated ability to review business processes and translate into BI reporting and analysis solutions.

  • Strong writing and analytical skills.

  • Experience with data and analytics platforms beyond Oracle HCM, such as Tableau, Alteryx, Incorta, R, Python, etc. is a plus, as is experience with Enterprise Data Warehouse/Data Lake environments.

  • Experience implementing Oracle HCM and FDI is a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

  • Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.

  • Frequently sitting. Occasionally stand/walk.

  • Rarely writing by hand; lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.

This role is open to candidates anywhere in the United States. Stanford University has five Regional Pay Structures . The compensation for this position will be based on the location of the successful candidate.

The expected pay range for this position is $85,000 to $129,000 per annum, for remote positions.

The expected pay range for this position is $102,000 to $147,000 per annum, for on-site/hybrid positions.
