The Division of Neonatal and Developmental Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at Stanford University School of Medicine/Stanford Medicine Children’s Health is seeking an academic neonatologist to join our team. The successful candidate will be appointed as a Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor in the Clinician Educator line. The major criterion for appointment as Clinician Educators is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching, administrative and/or scholarship appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.

Academic rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

This faculty position will include serving as attending neonatologist at the Level IV NICU at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford in Palo Alto, CA. Our Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital (LPCH) NICU is a world class, Level IV NICU that serves as a national referral center, treating approximately 1000 newborns each year. The NICU also supports the high-risk obstetrics service at LPCH, with around 5000 deliveries annually, and closely collaborates with the Stanford Johnson Center Fetal and Pregnancy Health Program.

Our neonatologists work alongside experienced neonatal nurse practitioners, neonatal hospitalists, neonatal-perinatal medicine fellows, and pediatric residents. Our multidisciplinary environment includes colleagues from maternal-fetal medicine and pediatric surgical and medical subspecialties. The Level IV NICU at LPCH provides state of the art tertiary care, including HFOV, inhaled nitric oxide, therapeutic hypothermia, ECMO, and neonatal hemodialysis. Attending neonatologists supervise an active neonatal critical care transport team staffed with registered nurse transport specialists and respiratory therapists. The Division strongly supports faculty involvement in teaching, clinical research, and quality improvement efforts.

Requirements for this position include:

• Eligibility for a medical license in the state of California.

• Board certification or board eligibility in neonatal-perinatal medicine.

• Experience working in academic, high-acuity clinical environments.

The expected base pay range for this position is:

Clinical Assistant Professor: $287,000 - 299,000

Clinical Associate Professor: $329,000 - 342,000

Clinical Professor: $380,000 - 401,000

This pay range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. It does not include all components of the School of Medicine’s faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs.
