Job Title: Project Manager – Heavy Civil Construction

Job Description:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to lead and oversee the successful delivery of large-scale, heavy civil construction projects. This leadership role requires a strategic thinker with strong project management abilities, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of industry best practices. As the Project Manager, you will be responsible for every phase of the project life cycle—from initial planning and design through to construction and project closeout.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Lead and manage all phases of heavy civil construction projects, ensuring alignment with project goals, client expectations, and safety regulations.

  • Planning & Scheduling: Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including schedules, resource allocation, and budget forecasts, adjusting as necessary to accommodate project changes.

  • Client & Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and internal teams, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration across all stakeholders.

  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies to ensure minimal project disruptions and stay on track.

  • Quality Control: Implement and enforce rigorous quality control measures, ensuring that all work meets or exceeds industry standards and client specifications.

  • Safety & Compliance: Foster a culture of safety by ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and internal policies on-site.

  • Budget Management: Monitor project financials, approve expenditures, manage change orders, and ensure the cost-effective delivery of projects.

  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including contracts, change orders, progress reports, and closeout documentation. Prepare and present regular status updates to management and stakeholders.

  • Team Development: Provide leadership, mentorship, and growth opportunities for project team members, encouraging collaboration and performance excellence.

  • Site Monitoring: Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, ensure adherence to project plans, and resolve any issues that may arise.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in managing large-scale heavy civil construction projects, with a demonstrated ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.

  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry regulations.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency with project management software and tools (e.g., Bluebeam, Primavera P6, etc.).

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work effectively under pressure.

Preferred Skills:

  • PMP certification (Project Management Professional).

  • Experience managing heavy civil projects in Westchester and the five boroughs of New York City.

Work Environment:

This role offers a balanced mix of office and fieldwork, including frequent site visits to monitor progress and ensure project success. You will use industry-standard software such as Bluebeam and Primavera P6 to manage schedules, budgets, and project documentation.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $200000.00/hr.
