As a senior Lead Control & Protection Project Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the team that designs, develops, configuration and Verification of HVDC Control& Protection System and, drive consistent design practices, common global processes for projects implementation and provide technical solution that meets the project objectives.

The role gives an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineer to expand their project management skills and personal development within an international project organisation delivering complex HVDC system.

Job Description

Scope

  • Execute the delivery of the project regarding the Control & Protection System Engineering and Verification & Validation.

  • From the capture of the requirements to the handover to customer, as per budget and within schedule.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Leading the Engineering team that designs, develops, configuration and Verification of HVDC Control& Protection System and, drive consistent design practices, common global processes for projects implementation and provide technical solution that meets the project objectives.

  • Drive the team to define and maintain scope for the Control & Protection System Delivery Project Plan.

  • Define and maintain the detailed Project schedule derived from P6 plan and managing agreed Budget.

  • Define and maintain the Control & Protection System Risk Register and escalade high risks to Project Engineering manager.

  • Review planned hours, Cost-To-Completion hours vs Budgeted hours.

  • Adhere to the Control & Protection System Engineering SIPOC and delivery processes.

  • Accountability on the On-Time-Delivery and say-do ratio KPIs for the project.

  • Lead NCP, with action plan in place and accountability to close them.

  • Raise Change Request when required following a budget deviation or a change of scope.

  • Report on a monthly basis to the Delivery Manager, the project progress, including achievements, budget status, risks review and resource plan, look ahead.

  • Represent Control & Protection System during the customer meeting and with GE partners.

  • Makes decisions regarding work processes or operational plans and schedules in order to achieve department objectives.

  • Manage the engineering resources, workload, schedule, and project milestones.

  • Actively share and learn good practices and lesson learning to implement in the project for better project execution.

Qualifications / Essential Requirements

  • Engineering degree or equivalent including power systems and Electrical, control & Protection system subjects or proven equivalent knowledge and experience in HVDC business.

  • Extensive and demonstrated experience in Control & Protection system and have complicated problem-solving skills.

  • Degree in Project Management or equivalent & In-depth experience working in large teams.

  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to identify and manage team organisational risks.

  • Proven skills in managing and leading team with strong technical background.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Able to work to deadlines under pressure whilst maintaining the safety, quality, and engineering integrity of the solution.

  • Must be flexible with working hours and willing to travel globally.
