Job Description Summary

Join a dynamic team dedicated to driving the Green Energy transition! GE Renewable Energy is seeking an Electronics Repair Cell Technician to join our Grid Solutions business at our Stafford office. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of electronics assembly, testing, and manufacturing, contributing directly to the development of cutting-edge renewable energy solutions.

As an Electronics Repair Cell Technician, you will be responsible for repairing and investigating returned electronic products, ensuring they meet our rigorous quality standards. You will use specialized test equipment and adhere to standard operating procedures to maintain the highest levels of efficiency and craftsmanship.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Electronics Repair & Assembly: Perform high-quality fitting, assembly, and testing of electronic products, adhering to standard operating procedures and Service Centre norms.

  • Overhaul & Adjustment: Engage in overhaul, assembly, and minor component adjustments, whether manually or using small machines.

  • Process Efficiency: Implement processes efficiently, aligning with business targets and customer expectations.

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all products and operations meet exacting standards in line with customer requirements and best practices.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with your team, supporting business needs and operational flexibility within the cells.

  • Target Achievement: Meet or exceed shift and weekly production targets, maintaining a focus on Quality, EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety), and cost efficiency.

  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in initiatives focused on EHS, quality improvements, and the introduction of new products.

  • Customer Reporting: Create detailed repair reports for customers, requiring strong written communication skills.

  • Problem Solving: Utilize your problem-solving and analytical skills to address complex challenges autonomously.

  • Teamwork & Communication: Exhibit excellent teamwork, verbal communication, and cooperation skills within a diverse and inclusive environment.

  • Advanced Skills: While not essential, skills in PCB fault diagnosis and soldering to IPC A-610 or J-STD-001 standards are highly desirable.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Experience: Time-served craft apprenticeship or equivalent experience in electronics, with a deep understanding of electronic components and circuits.

  • Industry Knowledge: Prior experience in an industrial manufacturing or MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) environment.
